Ruby Lee Dugar

July 25, 1935 — June 10, 2022

Ruby Lee Dugar, was called to her heavenly home on Friday, June 10, 2022.

She was born to Bertrand and Bernadette (Banner) Richard on July 25, 1935 in Church Point, Louisiana. 

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Patrick Dugar; parents, three brothers; Ray Richard, Herbert Richard, and Emory Richard; and five sisters; Bonnie Malveaux, Velma Lambert, Ramona Guillory, Pamela Richard, and Elma Broussard.

On December 10, 1955, Ruby Richard and Patrick Dugar were joined in Holy Matrimony.  To this union of 55 years, three children were born, Sandra Bellow, Wonda Gale Collins, and Patrick Craig Dugar. 

Ruby focused her life on taking care of her family.  She worked as a housekeeper, Short Order Cook, Nurse Aide, and a School Bus Driver’s Aide.  After retirement (at age 83), she loved visiting family, taking care of her home, and playing Solitaire on her phone.

Ruby was an active member of the Christian Mothers at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and loved going on trips with this group.  After moving to Westlake, LA, she became a dedicated member of St. John Bosco Church. 

Cherishing her memories are her three children, Sandra Ann Bellow, Wonda Gale Collins, and Patrick Craig Dugar; two sons-in-law; Francis Bellow, Jr. and Marvin James Collins; one daughter-in law; Dawn Eunice Dugar, six grandchildren; Francis Bellow III, Ryan Patrick Bellow, Ashley Elizabeth Bellow, Brooke Marie Pelt, Brittany Gail Victorian, and Donovan Patrick Dugar; two bonus grandsons; Marvin James Collins II, and Damien Proa; eight great-grandchildren; Ashton Jones, Ashylon Bellow, Ryan Bellow Jr., Maleiya Bellow, Myla Bellow,  Brayden Pelt, Brianna Pelt, and Brynn McCarthy; two siblings, Joyce Gobert and Gloria Guillory; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, family, and friends. 

A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Father Joby Mathew will officiate.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a rosary at 11:00 AM.
