Ruby Marie Dupuie Nunez

Ruby Marie Dupuie Nunez, 90, passed on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

She was born on September 16, 1931 in Grand Chenier, LA to Delma and Edia Swire.

She loved the outdoors, flowers, fishing, crabbing and spending time with her grandchildren. She was the lunchroom manager for nearly 20 years at Grand Chenier Elementary School where the students enjoyed her food. She was also a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church and an American Axillary member.  

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Howard H. Dupuie, Jr., Patricia “Pat” Dupuie Cogar (John), D.A. Dupuie (Analee), and Lena Dupuie; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren; siblings, Lucille Lemaire, Mary Ann Stelly, Betty Ann Guidry, and Wilfred Swire.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband and father of her children, Howard Dupuie, Sr.; second husband, Kenneth Paul Nunez; siblings, Obray Swire, Wilson Swire, Freddie Swire, Hilda Miller, and Lucy Faulk; and great granddaughter, Alyson Breaux.

Her funeral service will be held at The Vineyard of Lake Charles on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. The Very Reverend Rojo Koonathan will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Eugene Catholic Cemetery in Grand Chenier following the service.  Visitation will be held at The Vineyard of Lake Charles on Sunday from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.
