Ruby Trahan

December 7, 1933 — November 18, 2023

Ruby Trahan, 89, of Sulphur, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, in a local hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She loved spending time outside working in her yard.   She always had a lot to say and used that talent to teach and keep the heritage of the Creole French language alive.  She was a member of the Cajun French Music Association and sang in the French Choir. She was very talented and enjoyed many hobbies including crocheting, knitting, sewing, and taught herself how to work with beads to make beautiful Rosaries that she could share with others.  She enjoyed helping others and did so by delivering meals for the Council on Aging.    She was also proud to be a part of the VFW Ladies Axillary.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jeri Owen (Rick) of Sulphur, LA., and LeeAnn Mitchell (John) of Ackworth, GA., 8 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years J. Lee Trahan; her parents; son, Michael Crochet; two brothers, Sylvester LeBlanc, and Chris LeBlanc; one sister, Beulah Swain.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur, La.
