Russell Wade Landry

January 7, 1963 — December 28, 2017

Russell Wade Landry, 54, of Sulphur entered into Heaven peacefully Thursday, December 28, 2017 from Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans.

 

Mr. Landry lived most of his life in Lake Charles and in 2005 made Sulphur his home. He was a 1981 graduate of Barbe High School and worked as a Tanker man, primarily for PPG Industries/Axiall.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed both freshwater and deep-sea fishing, hunting and spending time at the family marsh in Bell City.  He loved music, watching movies and sharing his time off with the love of his life, Donna and his baby dog, Zoé.  Russell will be most remembered for his love of his wife, family and friends, his sparkling blue eyes and beautiful smile. 

 

He leaves to honor his memory, his beloved wife of twenty-six years, Donna Kay Pickett Landry of Sulphur; mother, Delores Landry of Lake Charles; sister, Stephanie Ramsey and husband Jeremy of Lake Charles and their children, Hannah Orgeron and husband Chase of Thibodeaux and Sydney Ramsey of Lake Charles; parents-in-law, Bartholomew “Bart” and JoAnn Pickett of Lake Charles; brothers-in-law, David Pickett and wife Gloria of Liberty, TX and their children, Keith and wife Annie of TN and Mark and Cadie Pickett of Liberty, TX and Kevin Pickett of Lake Charles and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He also leaves his cousin/best friend/brother at heart, Darren Landry and his wife/”sis”, Cheryl Pickett Landry and their children/godchildren, Olivia and Drew Landry of Katy, TX.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel “Danny” Lee Landry; paternal grandparents, David “Big Daddy” Landry and Mildred “Big Mamma” Landry and paternal grandfather, Russell White.

 

A celebration honoring Russell’s life will be at 6:00 PM Saturday, January 06, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Harry Methvin will officiate.  A gathering of friends Saturday will be from 2:00 PM until the time of service.
