Ruth Edwina “Pud” Anderson, 93, of Lake Charles, LA passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at a local care facility.
Pud was born on December 18, 1924 in Westlake, LA, to Clementine and Willie Bonvillain. A graduate of LaGrange High School, she was a Rosie the Riveter in the New Orleans ship yard during WWII. Mrs. Anderson was a founding member of University United Methodist Church. Pud was a homemaker as she cared for her children and her husband of more than 55 years. While raising her children she revealed her seamstress skills as she made their clothes and prom dresses. Pud was also an avid quilter and loved to cook and bake for her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Susan Anderson and husband Rob Weiss, and James “Jim-Bob” Anderson and wife Joyce; grandchildren, Melissa Anderson Bruno and her son Dominic Bruno, Mike Anderson and wife Kristin and their children Miles and Adia Anderson, Joan Brooks Landry and husband Jason, and James B. Brooks; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Anderson is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph Anderson; and children, William “Bill” Anderson and Kathryn Marie Anderson.
Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home. Reverend Katie Simpson will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Friday morning at 8:00 AM.
