Ruth Helen Moore

June 3, 1930 — October 26, 2010

Ruth Helen Moore, age 80, of Lake Charles, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at her residence surrounded by family.

Ms. Moore was born, raised, and educated in Cape Girardeau, MO. She lived throughout numerous cities and states, having lived the past five years in Lake Charles. Ms. Moore worked in food service as a waitress and a cook all of her life. She was of the Baptist faith and gardening, planting flowers, sewing, reading, cross stitching, and crocheting were favorite pastimes for her. But, most of all, her family was her biggest love and enjoyment, having been the most loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother she could be. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Preceding her in death was her husband of 63 years, Earlis Edward Moore.

Survivors include her six children, Wayne Moore (Margaret) of Lake Charles, Ronna DeJaynes of Perry, KS, Gayle Roosendaal (John) of Lake Charles; Faye Starkebaum (Jerry) of Carbondale, KS, Kenneth Moore (Christine) of Lake Charles, and Leslie Crispin (Paul) of Topeka, KS; 10 siblings; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2010, at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA. Brother Ronnie Estes will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 29, from 11 a.m. until time of service.
