Ruth Margaret Ward

Ruth Margaret Ward, 99, of Lake Charles passed away at 9:01 PM on Friday, June 15, 2018 in a local care facility.

Mrs. Ward was born on November 10, 1918 in Linesville, PA and was raised in Ohio where she received her Master’s Degree in Education from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland. She taught grade school in Ohio and moved to Florida in 1974 where she also taught for many years.

She and her late husband, Stanley, enjoyed traveling together and were fortunate to have seen the world.

Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Joan Baker (Rick Robberson) of North Carolina and Florida; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Ward; a son, Norman VanWinkle; and two brothers, Bob and Earl Prouty.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
