Ruth Marie Hall Trahan

December 8, 1950 — August 28, 2020

Marie Trahan, age 69, peacefully passed away in her home on August 28, after months of battling lung cancer with her family by her side.

She was born to James Dewey "JD" and Mary Ruth Hall on December 08, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana where she grew up.  She met and married the love of her life in 1972 and resided in lake Charles for the remainder of her years.  Marie was a graduate of Sam Houston High School 'class of 1969, where she was crowned Miss Sam Houston and a member of the Broncette danceline. Her most loved career was US Unwired, where she built many lifelong friendships and mentored all who worked for her. Marie retired in 2014 and was able to fulfill her dream as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family meant more than anything to her. She loved holidays and family get togethers; any chance to spend time with her family. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, working in her flowerbeds, sipping hot tea while watching hummingbirds on her patio and putting together her puzzles. She will be greatly missed by those left to cherish her memory.

Marie is survived by her husband of 48 years, Danny Trahan, daughter Monica Trahan Blanco (Michael), son Brett Trahan all of Lake Charles, 5 grandchildren, Brooke Pousson Lopez, Kaitlyn Trahan, Kade Pousson, Brylan and Ashton Trahan, 2 great-grandchildren Braxtyn and Elynne Lopez. Sisters, Patricia Stevenson (George) of Plano,TX, Mary Clayton of Westlake, Becky Roberts (James) of Moss Bluff and brother Jim Hall (Sandra) of Westlake and many neices and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents JD and Mary Hall.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 24, 2020 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel in Moss Bluff.  The Rev. Mark Bray.  A gathering of family and friends will begin at noon until the start of the service.  Inurnment will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  Following the inurnment, the family invites each of you for fellowship and refreshments at the VFW in Lake Charles on Lake St.
