Sally Fontenot Sallier

Sally Marie LeBleu Fontenot Sallier, 72, of Westlake, LA died at 7:35 PM on Sunday, July 1, 2012 in a local hospital.


Mrs. Sallier was born November 20, 1939 in Lake Charles, lived in LeBleu Settlement for most of her life, and lived in Westlake, LA for the past eight years. She was raised in the Catholic faith and was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church. She was a member of the Cajun French Music Association. Mrs. Sallier loved Mardi Gras and attending Mardi Gras festivities. She also loved spending time with her family and enjoyed French music and dancing.


Mrs. Sallier is survived by her husband of eight years, Arsene Joseph "Bobby" Sallier, Jr. of Westlake; children, Ronald Fontenot and wife Margaret of Lake Charles, Carlyss Snyder of Lake Charles, Donald Fontenot and wife Susan of Iowa, LA, Wayne Fontenot and wife Julie of Iowa, LA, Celeste Landry and husband Danny of Iowa, LA, Amelia McDonald and husband Bill of DeQuincy, Bobbie Ann Hargrove of Fort Smith, AR, Leland Sallier of Greenbay, WI, and Kim Baumery and husband Murphy of Dry Creek; sisters, Lou Higgins and husband John of Iowa, LA and Marjorie Dodson of Lake Charles; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; Godchild, Eddie Kershaw; and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her sister, Irma Howard; son, Lawrence "Larry" Sallier; and her first husband, Joseph Alvin Fontenot.


Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Mike Barras will officiate. Burial will follow in Sallier Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
