Sammy Angelo Monticello

January 13, 1942 — September 28, 2012

Sammy Angelo Monticello, 70, of Lake Charles died Friday September 28, 2012 at his residence after a brief illness.


Mr. Monticello was born January 13, 1942 in Lake Charles, LA to Angelo Joseph and Winnie Esther Myers Monticello. He served our country faithfully in the United States Navy, and was the owner and operator of Gulfway Auto Salvage.


Those left to cherish his memory are three sons, Joel Monticello and wife Rikki, Lake Charles; Danny Thibodeaux and wife Dawn, Houston, TX; and Mike Guillory and wife Cathe, Shreveport; three daughters, Missie Stutes and husband Billy, Lake Charles; Christy Monticello Ash and partner Tammy Wright, Lake Charles and Stephanie Easterling and husband Dr. David, Shreveport; two brothers, Robert Monticello and Charles Monticello, Lake Charles and a sister, Pat Boswell, Lake Charles and thirteen grandchildren.


Visitation will be today, September 30, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. There will be a Service of Remembrance at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Monday at Consolata Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Edwards officiating.
