Samuel Joseph Rizzuto

Samuel Joseph Rizzuto, 93 of Sulphur, Louisiana, passed away on May 31, 2022, at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Jennings.

Mr. Rizzuto was born to Catherine Sasso Rizzuto and Elic Rizzuto on January 10, 1929, in Gueydan, LA. He served the United States during which time he was injured and has lived life as a disabled veteran. Following his medical discharge, he obtained an Accounting Degree.  During his younger years, Mr. Rizzuto enjoyed crabbing, shrimping, crawfishing and hunting. He enjoyed meeting his singles group out for Saturday night dancing. It was at one of these dances he met the love of his life Miss Cecile. In 1982 they married and he gained three sons; Keith, Larry and Robert. He will be most remembered for his love and devotion to his bride of twenty-seven years.

Amongst his greatest memories were family gatherings after church on Sunday at his son Larry and Joyce’s house for lunch and playing games.

Mr. Rizzuto was preceded in death by his wife, Cecile Chatagnier Rizzuto; parents and three brothers; two stepsons, Bryon Keith Perron and Larry C. Perron. Those left to cherish his memory are stepson, Robert Walter Perron and daughter-in-law, Joyce E. Perron.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Brother Wayne Dartez will officiate. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery at 12:45 pm.

Memorial donations may be made to Victory Baptist Church of Lake Charles.
