Samuel Raymon Breaux Sr.

March 18, 1943 — September 2, 2012

Samuel Raymon Breaux Sr., 69 passed away on September, 2, 2012 in his residence surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur, LA with Reverend Lawrence Kohler, M.S. officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss, LA under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 4-9p.m. at Robison Funeral Home with a rosary at 6 p.m. recited by Deacon Johnny Mounce followed by a Cursillo Rosary at 6:30 p.m. with visitation resuming on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until time of service. Samuel was born in Sulphur and lived in Hackberry for the past 24 years. He graduated from Sulphur High School in 1961 and served in the U S Army from 1965- 1967 receiving a National Defense Service Medal. He worked at PPG as a machinist and later as a Supervisor retiring after 34 years. He was a local musician for over 40 years, a member of the Catholic Faith, and an avid outdoors man. Sam loved spending time with his grandchildren and was always working on some type of project. He loved to express to everyone Hey Kid . Samuel is survived by his wife, Letty Brooks Breaux of 21 years of Hackberry, LA; son, Samuel Raymon Breaux, II and wife, Christy of Carlyss, LA; two daughters, Lee Ann Breaux and husband Travis Blanchard of Catahoula, LA and Tricia Breaux of Sulphur, LA; step-daughter, Hope Walding and husband, Henry of DeQuincy, LA; sister, Jennie Brankline and husband, Robert Bob of Sulphur, LA; three sister-in-laws, Eva Breaux, Mary Jane Breaux and Josie Johnson; brother-in "law, Lynell Hilton; five grandchildren, Harlie Blanchard of Catahoula, LA, Kale Breaux, Pierce Breaux, and Cooper Breaux all of Carlyss, LA and Skyla Myers of Sulphur, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Callie Breaux; brothers, A.L. Johnson, James Breaux, Henry Breaux, and Louis Breaux; sister, Betty Lou Hilton and sister-in-law, Janice Breaux. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Amedysis Hospice and to Dr. Brian Stewart and Dr. Walter Ledet.
