Sandra Ann "Sandy" Pousson

February 17, 1949 — May 31, 2016

Sandra Ann “Sandy” Pousson, 67, of Lake Charles passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in a local healthcare facility.

 

Mrs. Pousson was born in Church Point, LA, was a graduate of LaGrange High School and has lived most of her life in Lake Charles.  She worked in accounting for South Central Bell/Bell South, Davidson Inc. and LA Millwork for many years.  She has worked the past six years as an attendance secretary at St. Louis High School where her smile and personality were always sure to brighten the day.  Mrs. Pousson enjoyed playing first base in softball and church league volleyball.  She was an avid sports fan, partial to St. Louis athletics and LSU football and baseball.    Her greatest times were spent with her children and grandchildren and playing pokeno with her friends.  She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church where she was a volunteer for countless events and fundraisers through the years. Mrs. Pousson will be most remembered as a Christian woman of faith and for her love of family.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory,  her loving husband of thirty-nine years, Deacon Anthony “Tony” Pousson of Lake Charles; two children, Lindsy Pousson Lassere and husband Chad of Willow Spring, NC and Lucas Anthony “Luke” Pousson and wife Audrey of Westlake; six grandchildren, Sarah and Kaitlin Lassere and Owen, Ezra, Agnes and Abram Pousson; two brothers, Hubert Brasseaux of Welsh, LA and Jim Brasseaux of Vestavia, AL; four sisters, Berna Pujol of Nederland, TX, Dot Ardoin of Lacassine, Jenora Cormier and Benita Husers, both of Iowa; dear friend, Freida Ostafin of  Lake Charles and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubertie and Olampe Doucet Brasseaux.

 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 02, 2016 at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Reverend Alan Trouille and Reverend Bill Miller will officiate. 

Visitation Wednesday will be from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM.  Visitation Thursday will be from 8:00 AM until 1:15 PM in the funeral home.

 

Donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Ministry or Oak Park Food Pantry, c/o St. Margaret Catholic Church, 2500 Enterprise Boulevard, Lake Charles, LA 70605.
