Sandra Gail Moody

Sandra Gail Moody, 65, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Sunday, November 2, 2014 in her residence. Ms. Moody was born November 10, 1948 in Lake Charles, LA, where she was a life-long resident. She was a 1966 graduate of Lake Charles High School and worked for over twenty years at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in the purchasing department. She was currently employed at Christus St. Patrick Hospital for eighteen years and worked in material management. She also worked for the Lake Charles Civic Center for a number of years and was active with their various activities. Ms. Moody attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. She was a proud breast cancer survivor of over fifteen years. Her life revolved around her family and her grandchildren; she loved spending time with them and attending her grandchildren's baseball, softball, and soccer games. Ms. Moody is survived by her only daughter, Melisa Henry and husband Bryan of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah, and Cooper Henry; brother, David Moody of Westlake, LA; sister-in-law, Sue Moody of Holmwood, LA; step-mother, Lillian Moody of Lake Charles; niece, Savanna Schnake and husband Jason of Lake Charles; step-great nephews, Carter and Gavyn Schnake; nephew, Colby Moody of Holmwood, LA; and numerous friends and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel Moody and Herbert Moody; and grandmother, Louise Boudreaux. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Reverend Nathan Long will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 9:40 AM.
