Sandy Mire

January 27, 1949 — October 28, 2022

Sandy Lynn Abshire Mire, 73, of Sulphur, LA entered into Eternal Life with her Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on the evening of October 28, 2022. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Sandy was born in Lake Charles, LA to Leven and Bernice Abshire.  Sandy and Ronnie were united in marriage on September 28, 1965, where they began their life raising their three children.  Recently celebrating 57 years of marital bliss.

Sandy was a devout Christian woman and a follower of Jesus Christ.  She was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren; enjoyed spending time with them and hearing about all their activities. Oh, how she loved her family, they were her world.  She faithfully read her bible, enjoyed listening to French music (especially her youngest son playing the accordion), fishing, attending prayer groups, drinking coffee, visiting, and baking.

She leaves a legacy to her family of God’s amazing love and grace.  Though she was a humble, gentle woman, Sandy was nonetheless a powerful prayer warrior, and only heaven knows what a wonderful and eternal impact all her many years of faithful praying have had on her family and friends.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ronnie Mire, three children: daughter, Gwen Stewart, sons Chris (Lori) Mire, Steven (Tonya) Mire, 9 grandchildren: Lindsey (Nicholas) Miller, Austin Mire, Andrew (Ashley) Mire, Adelynn Domingue, Allie Mire, Raylee Stewart, Aubre’ Mire, Anndyn Mire, Arlie Mire, 2 great grandchildren, Kanon Primeaux & Waylon Mire; 6 siblings, 1 sister-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Leven and Bernice Abshire, sister, Marcia Abshire, brother Tony Abshire, son-in-law Keith Stewart, brother-in-law Herman Mire.

Pallbearers: Austin Mire, Andrew Mire, Nicholas Miller, Ryan Ardoin, Adam Hebert, Aaron Doxey.  Honorary Pallbearers:  Kanon Primeaux, Anndyn Mire, Waylon Mire.
