Sandra “Sandy” Diane Parker Peck, 73, of Moss Bluff, LA, passed away at 4:12 PM on Friday, December 2, 2022 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Peck was born December 27, 1948 in Lake Charles, LA and was a lifelong resident of Moss Bluff. She was a 1966 graduate of Sam Houston High School and an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #242 in Moss Bluff. She was raised in the Baptist faith and attended various churches in Moss Bluff throughout the years. Mrs. Peck retired as a Deputy Assessor from the Calcasieu Parish Tax Assessors Office, where she worked for over twenty years. During her younger years, she enjoyed sewing and making clothes for her nieces and nephews. She always had a love for shopping, music, dancing, and enjoyed tailgating at McNeese. Later in life, she enjoyed adult coloring books and always supported local organizations that helped those with disabilities. Her true passion in life was for her family. “Aunt Sandy” as she was known by everyone, loved her nieces and nephews dearly and remained their comforter through the years.
Mrs. Peck is survived by her brother, George H. Parker of Moss Bluff; nieces and nephew that she loved like her own, Tiffanie Boudreaux (Eric Knott) of Lafayette, Misty Parker of Moss Bluff, and Daniel Parker (Laci) of Crane, TX; great-nieces and great-nephews, Korie Boudreaux (Ross Landry), Kalyb Boudreaux, Chase Boudreaux (Cheyenne Sanders), Max Parker, Mazie Parker, Duke Parker, Astraya Landry and baby Jude Boudreaux, on-the-way; and her beloved dogs, Rounder, Eli and Bella
She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of thirty-nine years, Steven Denton Peck; parents, Hillery George Parker and Iva Marie Reeves Miles; stepdaughter, Pamela Peck Williams; and great-niece, Lola Huval,
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Reverend Marcus Wade will officiate. Burial will follow in Ritchie Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:30 AM until the start of the service.
The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Harbor Hospice and the doctors and staff of St. Patrick Hospital’s ICU, especially both Dr. Kondas, Cody, and Michelle, for all of the care and support given.
