Scott Blake Gaspard

Scott Blake “Blake-O” Gaspard, 37, of Westlake, LA passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021 in his home with his loving family by his side.

Blake-O was born on June 28, 1983 in Lake Charles, LA to Scott Graham Gaspard and Rhonda Manuel Dartez.

He was a sweetheart.  He had an infectious smile.  He loved cajun music, and especially loved attending local festivals.  He was a big fan of Wayne Toups.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his mother, Rhonda Dartez, and his daddy, Murphy Joseph Dartez, Jr.,; his paternal grandmother, Betty Gaspard; his godfather, Wade Allen Conner, his godmother, Jackie Zerangue (Mike); his aunts, Janice Duplechin (Michael), and Barbara Fontenot (Gary); and his uncle, Marty Dartez (Tina); his father, Scott Graham Gaspard

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, J.C. Gaspard, his maternal grandparents, Dallas and Jenniebell Manuel; his grandparents, Murphy Joseph Dartez, Sr. and wife Mamie; and his aunt, Faye Swickard (Steve).

His funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM at University Baptist Church in Lake Charles.  Steve Stark will officiate.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.  Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  **Please observe social distancing and all attendees must wear a mask.**
