Scott D. Spooner, 64, of Ragley passed away at 8:34 AM on Thursday, June 14, 2018 in a local hospital.
Mr. Spooner was born on December 29, 1953 in Lake Charles and has resided in the Moss Bluff/Ragley area most of his life. He was a graduate of Sam Houston High School and received a degree at McNeese State University. He and his wife moved to Utah, where they lived for 16 years, and received three more degrees from Utah State University and worked for the federal government. For the next three decades Mr. Spooner owned and operated Spooner and Associates, Inc. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Longville.
He and his wife enjoyed traveling in their RV. Mr. Spooner will be remembered for his sense of humor. If you have never heard his jokes or seen his smile, you never met him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of more than 39 years, Linda Spooner of Ragley; two sons, Brandon Spooner (Lisa) of Ragley and Jason Spooner (Candace) of Moss Bluff; his mother, Janette Spooner of Moss Bluff; a sister, Carol Spooner of Moss Bluff; a brother, Skip Spooner (Cukis) of Moss Bluff; and six grandchildren, Cole, Chase, Trinity, Aubrey, Presley, and Jackson Spooner.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Raymond Spooner.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, June 18, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Longville. The Rev. Stuart Graves will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 2:00 PM until the start of the service.
