Scotty L. Winegeart

Scotty Winegeart, 74, passed away suddenly, in Leesville, LA, on Wednesday, September 11, 2019.

He was born on October 20, 1944 in Alexandria, LA to Jehu and Eldina Winegeart.

He will be remembered as a loving family man and a hard-working man who enjoyed woodworking and always had a passion for the railroad industry in which he worked as a conductor for many years. He was a generous and honest man and a dedicated Christian.

 He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Wood Winegeart; stepchildren, Tom Knapp (Becky) and Lori Jones (Craig); grandchildren, Elizabeth Knapp, Cheyenne Bass (Forest), Stephanie Knapp and Brittney Knapp; great grandchildren, Landon Bass and Brantley Bass; sister, Cathy Davidson (Andy); and favorite niece, Kathy Fontenot (Louis).

 He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve Winegeart; and stepson, Kevin Knapp. 

His funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. The Rev. Wayne Dartez and Rev. Mike Richardson will officiate. Burial will take place in Creel Memorial Gardens following the service. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will continue Thursday from 11 a.m. until the start of the service.
