Shameka "Meka" Smiley

Shameka “Meka” Smiley, 40, passed away on May 30, 2024 in a local hospital.

She was born on November 8, 1983, in Lake Charles, LA to Jose Villarrenl and Jackie Williams. She was very talented. She enjoyed making crafts, cooking, spending time with children, going on picnics, fishing, crabbing, and camping.

She is survived by her children, Shayne Corbello, Miguel Corbello, and Sadie Smiley; mother, Jackie Williams; grandmother, Shirley Fontenot; fiancé, Ronald Reed; and stepdaughters, Kaza and Shania.

She was preceded in death by a host of aunts, nieces, and other family members.

Her funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place in Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh following the service. Visitation will take place at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will continue Saturday from 12 p.m. until the start of the service.
