Shannon Marie Rye, 15, of Moss Bluff, died at the Texas Children's Hospital following a two year illness. Shannon was born in Camp Pendleton, CA on January 3, 1998. She was a sophomore at Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff where she was a member of the percussion section in the school band. She enjoyed music, art, fashion, and, above all, being the best big sister in the world! She was of the Catholic faith and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Shannon is survived by her parents, Josh and Samantha Coffman Guillet, Moss Bluff and Todd Arron Rye, Beaumont, CA; two sisters, Ana Belle Guillet and Erica Jolie Guillet and brother, John Richard Guillet, all of Moss Bluff; grandparents, Jean and Nancy Guillet, Lake Charles; Dannye Coffman Kersten, Moss Bluff; and Lynn Lara, Beaumont, TX; great grandparents, Joe and Deana Soileau, Lake Charles and Jean Crittenden, Weleetka, OK; aunts and uncles, Robert and Michelle Coffman, Cummings, GA and Deana Lara, Beaumont, TX as well as a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Visitation for Shannon will be from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday October 10, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Home with a rosary and scripture service to be held at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday October 11 at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 AM Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church with Monsignor Danny Torres serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Sallier Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the wonderful acts of kindness, care and support shown to them during Shannon's illness. An extra special thanks to her aunt, Carol Ann Brown from Oklahoma City. Shannon was a unique, kind and loving individual that will be dearly missed by many.
