Sharon Lee Crockett Guidry, 68, of Lake Charles died at 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2012 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Guidry was born on December 4, 1943 in Washington, DC and moved to the Lake Charles area in 1960. She was a graduate of Crowley High School and attended McNeese State University.
She was highly involved with the Girl Scouts for over 30 years and also belonged to the Catholic Community on Scouting with the Boy Scouts. Mrs. Guidry was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.
Mrs. Guidry spent her spare time in online music chat rooms, sharing her passion for music with others. She also enjoyed playing games on Facebook.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Lee Perry Guidry, Sr.; four children, Lee Perry Guidry, Jr. and spouse Madelyn of Bacliff, TX, Jennifer Lynne Guidry of Lake Charles, Stephanie Mott and spouse Nikki of Lumberton, TX, and April McClure and spouse Michael of Lake Charles; three siblings, Ann Guidry and Joan Doucet both of Lake Charles, and Duane "David" Crockett of Midland, TX; and five grand daughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and John Crockett; a nephew, Aaron Guidry; and three grandchildren, including Tiffany, whose cremains will be buried with her grandmother.
A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 9, 2012 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. The Rev. Scott Conner will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM in the funeral home.
