She had a beautiful smile, a hilarious sense of humor; she kissed our hurts, baked us cherry pies and cooked supper every night. When she finished whipping us, she was quick to remind us, that it hurt her, more than it hurt us. She always expected the very best from herself, as well as from us. She was a perfectionist and her famous quote was do it right or don't bother.

My Momma died of lung cancer. She smoked for a total of forty years. She allowed this cancer in and it did what it does best, it killed.
Prior to this illness my Momma had no health problems at all. This cancer robbed my Momma of her beautiful independent mind. My momma was a creative thinker, a person who laughed at the word can't.
