Sharon (Sherry) Bonell Blount went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. She was born in Memphis, TN, on July 22, 1945 to Elmer and Nevada (Roberts) Blount. She graduated from LaGrange High School in 1963, and was the inspiration for the prominent Gatorette portrait now displayed in the school (ironically, she was a member of the band instead).
She attended nursing school after graduation and then married Dan Forbess. She had a varied career history and was the consummate salesperson. Most recently, she worked at Solutions Counseling & EAP as well as Nederland Jewelry. She loved to work and took pride in her independence. Her faith in God and her love of music were driving forces in her life. She was very active at First Baptist Church her whole life, singing in the choir and taking on many leadership roles.
Sherry loved to meet people and go places. She always saw the beauty in things around her and encouraged people in every way. She had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She truly enjoyed life to the fullest—singing, dancing, laughing, and loving. She was a beautiful person inside and out.
Sherry is survived by her daughter, Keri McCorquodale (Rob), her son Jeff Forbess (Jill); her four beloved grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, and Julianna Forbess and Ethan McCorquodale; her brother, Eldon Blount; sisters, Mila Chesson (Lynn), Lee Ann Smith (Gary), and Kathy Pardue (Cary). She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, whom she adored. Throughout her life, she “adopted” numerous loved ones, including Aaron and Corinne Wells. She was predeceased by her parents, Elmer and Nevada (Roberts) Blount, and the love of her life, Tom Wells.
