Shelby D. Benoit

Mrs. Shelby Dean Benoit, 71, of Lake Charles died at 10:15 AM Friday, July 29, 2011 in her residence.

Mrs. Benoit was a life long resident of the Lake Charles area. She was a 1956 graduate of LaGrange Senior High School. She was a member of Sale Street Baptist Church for many years. She also worked in the nursery for the church. She was also a life member of the VFW post 2130 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years Ernest S. Benoit of Lake Charles, LA, two sons; Timothy Benoit of Lake Charles and Perry Benoit of Sulphur, LA, two brothers; Gerald Foreman of Lake Charles, LA and John A. Foreman of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters; Billie Fults and husband Guessner, and Judy Detwiler all of Lake Charles, LA, one grandson Timothy Benoit II and fiance'e Ashley Foy, two great grandchildren Zoey Benoit and Jayde Foy.

She is preceded in death by her parents Doveda and John E. Foreman, one son Terry Benoit, three sisters; Barbara Tringali and Betty Pugh, Loraine LeDoux.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 1:00 PM from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Wayne Dartez will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will begin on Sunday at 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Monday at 8:00 AM until the time of services.
