Sherman Lee Langley, 70, of LeBleu Settlement, LA died at 2:15 PM on Sunday, September 4, 2011 surrounded by his family.
Mr. Langley was born June 24, 1941 in Basile, LA and has lived in the Lake Charles area for over sixty years. He was a 1960 graduate of Marion High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Langley was an inside salesman at Lake Charles Rubber and Gasket, where he retired in 2006 after forty-five years of service. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and enjoyed dancing, raising horses, and horse racing.
Mr. Langley is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Linda Morgan Langley; two sons, Brandon Lane Langley and Damon Lee Langley, all of Lake Charles; brother, Lacy Buddy Langley of Ponchatoula, LA; sister, Patsy Hebert and husband Michael of Topsy, LA; and grandchild, Ariane Paige Langley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucien and Allie Sonnier Langley and nephew, Shawn Broussard.
His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Bill Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in LeBleu Cemetery in Chloe, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a scripture service and rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
Pallbearers for the service will be Stephen Buller, Darin LaBiche, Michael Hebert, Freeman Turner, Kurt Langley, and Freddie Carrier.
