Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Sherry Ann Vincent of Lake Charles, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 in a Lafayette local hospital.
Sherry Ann Vincent, lifelong resident of Lake Charles, was born on September 22, 1947 to Louis Pete Bourne and Willie Mae (Carpenter) Bourne. She graduated from Lagrange High School. She worked in the Service Agreement Department at the Sears Warehouse, where she met some of her closest and lifelong friends, before transitioning to the furniture department at the Sears retail store downtown. She then continued on to work at American Office Machines and Walmart.
In her emerging adulthood, she became active and was always on the road. She enjoyed shopping and going to garage sales with her mom (they lived for Saturdays). Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest treasures in life. Sherry loved to talk about anything and to LAUGH OUT LOUD! She loved to watch TV, especially the news. Her family affectionately referred to her as our meteorologist. We like to joke that she knew what the weather was going to be before the weatherman.
Sherry Ann Vincent is proceeded in death by her parents, Louis Pete Bourne and Willie Mae (Carpenter) Bourne; and 2 sisters, Margaret Vincent and Bonnie Bourne.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two children, Robert Vincent (wife Minnie Vincent) and her daughter, April Ann Daley (husband Scott Daley); sister, Connie Vige (husband James Vige); six grandchildren, Robert Paul Vincent, Heather Obomsawin, Tyler Sanders, Ashley Vincent, Abigail Sanders and Carson Sanders; eleven great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Major, Conner, Carter, Andrew, Adler, Adrian, Arlie, Tristan, Jude & Ezra; and many dear nieces and nephews.
Sherry Ann Vincent’s family would like her to be remembered for her big heart, stubbornness, sense of humor and her beautiful blue-green eyes. Sherry was a strong fighter who is now reunited with her loved ones in heaven. She spent her last days as a WARRIOR surrounded by her family. She will be deeply missed.
