Sherry Lynn Gossett Carnahan, 63, of Lake Charles passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 in the comfort of her home. Mrs. Carnahan was born in Sinton, TX, raised in Taft, TX and was a graduate of Taft High School where she played basketball and was a cheerleader. She worked her younger years as a hair dresser and later retired as a cafeteria server with the Calcasieu Parish School Board. Mrs. Carnahan enjoyed crochet, embroidery, gardening. She especially enjoyed napping, shopping and family gatherings. She was always active in following her children's softball and baseball and other sporting events, as well as, her grandson's baseball and soccer games, along with, being her granddaughters greatest cheerleader at cheerleading competitions. Mrs. Carnahan will be most remembered for her unending love, guidance and loyalty to her family. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of forty years, Robert "Craig" Carnahan; one daughter, Brandi Carnahan Guillory and husband Brandon and Chad Keaton Carnahan; two grandchildren, Hunter and Kenzie Guillory, all of Lake Charles and extended family and many friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Eric Braxton will officiate. Interment will follow in Sallier Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday will be from 10:00 until the time of service in the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Hershal and Alice Lorene Daughtery Gossett.
