Sheryl Tankerson

Sheryl Tankerson, 58, of Lake Charles, LA., passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 at Harbor Hospice Care Facility in Lake Charles.  Born on May 28, 1964, to Raymond and Edna Mae Payne, Sheryl was a graduate of Marion High School.  After graduation, her life revolved around her compassion for others.  She began a career in the health industry that lasted over 15 years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Katherine Blaney, Kimberly Fontenot both of Lake Charles, her sons; Kevin Tankerson of Oklahoma City, OK., Kendrick Tankerson of New Orleans, LA., Seven grandchildren; Kalle Blaney, Kaleigh Blaney, Patrick Guillory, Jr., Kimora Guillory, Cali Rivas-Tankerson, Keval Rivas-Tankerson and Seven Tankerson; sisters, Brenda Payne of Lake Charles, Esther LeBlanc, of Dallas, TX., Gloria Rideaux of Lake Charles; brothers, Raymond Payne, Jr. and Alfred Payne, Sr. both of Lake Charles.  Sheryl is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Margaret Francis, Lillian Winford and Rosa Babineaux.

Memorial services for Sheryl will be Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA. 70601.  A time of gathering will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday and last until service time.  Cremation arrangements were handled under the direction of Lake Charles Crematorium, Lake Charles, LA.
