Shirley Ann Langley Fontenot, 78, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in her residence.
Mrs. Fontenot was born September 13, 1942 in Lake Charles, LA, where she was a life-long residence. She was a 1960 graduate of LaGrange High School and a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Mrs. Fontenot enjoyed cooking and will always be remembered for her pies and fudge. She enjoyed playing cards and dice, sewing, and loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed spending time at the Bundick Lake Camp. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who always put others before herself.
Mrs. Fontenot is survived by her husband of sixty years, Horace Fontenot; children, Kenny Fontenot, Krissy Ward and husband Blake, Kevin Fontenot and wife Monica, Kent Fontenot and wife Paula, Kurt Fontenot and wife Melissa, and Connie Etie and husband Lonnie; sister, Juanita Faye LeBleu; brother, Winston June Langley; grandchildren, Alisha, Avery, Lakeyn, Kendall, Joshua, Brian, Dustin, Clayton, Ashlyn, Christian, Kade, George, Justin, and Cassie; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ezola Langley; daughter, Kathy Nunez; infant son, Keith Fontenot; daughter-in-law, Donna Fontenot; God-child, Sherry Sutton; and grandchildren, Jessica Nunez and Garrett Ward.
Her funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home in Moss Bluff on Saturday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
