Shirley Marie Taylor

Shirley M. Hanks Taylor, 70, of Lake Charles, LA died at 2:55 PM on Monday, October 14, 2013 in a local hospital. Mrs. Taylor was born May 18, 1943 in Jennings, LA and was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She is survived by two brothers, Johnny Hanks and Mike McVey; four daughters, Donna Comeaux, Mary Jung, Hope Taylor, and Lois Taylor; son, William Taylor, Sr.; sixteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Taylor; mother, Mary Z. Hanks McVey; father, Claby J. Hanks; brother, Leetle Hanks; and three grandchildren, Amy Comeaux, Jacob Lafleur, and D.J. Fontenot. Her memorial service will be at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. A gathering of friends will be on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Her body was cremated under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
