Shyrol Lynn Petross Dubose

Shyrol Lynn Petross DuBose, 71, of Sulphur, LA died at 3:20 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2015 in a local care facility. Mrs. DuBose was born December 3, 1943 in Roswell, NM, and graduated from Sulphur High School. After living a few years in California, she spent most of her adult life in the Sulphur area. She worked as an ER nurse at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, where she retired in 1985. Mrs. DuBose was a member of the Church of Christ in Sulphur, LA. She will always be remembered as a wonderful cook. Mrs. DuBose is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, Donald Ray DuBose; two sons, Michael Gragg and wife Suzanne of Lafayette and John Gragg and wife Josie of Houston; four step-daughters, Jacqueline Taylor and husband J.T. of Sulphur, Cheryl DuBose and husband Kerry Pitts of Houston, Debbie McElhannon and husband Sean of Vinton, LA and Trina DuBose of Nashville, TN; brother, Jerry Petross of Sulphur; sister, Betty Hubble of Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Randall and Florence Petross; and brother, Bill Petross. A gathering of family members and friends will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home.
