Hebrews 12:22 “He has gone to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God (the heavenly Jerusalem) to an immense company of angels and souls of just made perfect and to Jesus the Mediator of the new Covenant.”
Sid was a retired paper carrier for the Lake Charles American Press. For forty-five years, he delivered newspapers by bicycle. At his retirement ceremony, he was given a key to the city by Mayor Randy Roach. He was also a charter member of Heritage Baptist Church where he had his own private parking spot for his three-wheel bicycle.
Preceding Sid in death are his parents, Robert L. (Sr.) and Fae Evans Corkran; niece, Melissa Corkran; and brother-in-law, Jim Moss. He is survived by a brother, Robert L. Corkran (Brenda); two sisters, Ruth Thompson (Doyle Ben) and Marion Moss; seven nieces and 13 nephews.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday October 19, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 20 from 12:00 PM until 2:30 PM. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home at 2:30 PM on Friday October 20 with Rev. Shane Kastler officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the workers at Compassionate Care, especially his very good friend, Jeune.
