Sidney Buddy Lavoi, Jr. 65, of Sulphur, died at 3:50 PM Friday, January 25, 2013 at his residence.
Buddy was a native of Lake Charles and graduated from Lake Charles High School and Sowela Technical Institute. He was an operator at Olin Chemicals and worked for a number of years for Flowers of the Lake Florist. Buddy lived in Sulphur for the past 23 years.
He served in the U. S. Navy during the Viet Nam War.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Diane Matthews Lavoi of Sulphur; two sons Bryan Anthony Lavoi of Lake Charles and Samuel E. Lavoi of Sulphur; two sisters, Marilyn Bourque of Lake Charles and Judy Landry of Iowa; two brothers, Ronnie Lavoi of Katy, Texas and Michael Lavoi of Lake Charles; four grandchildren, Dyllan, Sydney, Darby, and Sadie Lavoi.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Lavoi, Sr. and Angeline Scalisi Lavoi, and a brother Robert Jasper Lavoi.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 2, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. The Rev. Alan Trouille will officiate. Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles is in charge of arrangements.
