Skyler Gabriel Aguillard, 22, of Lake Charles died Sunday, September 16, 2018.
Skyler was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a 2015 graduate of Barbe High School, studied graphic arts at Sowela Technical Institute. He was a gifted artist and enjoyed drawing and sketching, music and computer gaming. Skyler worked two years at Jimmy John’s Pizza and was currently working at Academy Sports + Outdoors. He will be most remembered as a good, simple and humble young man and for his wit and sense of humor. His greatest love was his mother and brother.
He is survived by his mother, J. Nicolle Aguillard Messina and husband Sal of Lake Charles; father, Gregory Gibson of Lake Junaluska, NC; brother, Grant Ty Racca of Lake Charles; maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Mercedes Aguillard of Lake Charles; paternal grandmother, Eleanor Gibson “MawMaw doll” of Moss Bluff; five uncles, God father, Jeff Aguillard and wife Christi, Walt Aguillard and wife Miyuki, Jody Aguillard, Jude Aguillard, Jordan Aguillard and wife Jessica; three aunts, Jessica Foreman and husband Kevin, Michelle Hardesty and husband Gary and Gwen Gibson; two God mothers, Kim Judice Fontenot and Lori McComb Fitkin and his girlfriend, Kynlee Coleman of Hornbeck.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gene Gibson.
A Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 PM Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Visitation Wednesday will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM in the funeral home.
