Spencer David Fontenot

Spencer David Fontenot was welcomed into Heaven on Thursday, November 21, 2024. 

He was born September 13, 1951, in Lake Charles, LA to the late Melvin J. and Frances Fontenot. He was a graduate of Marion High School, Class of 1969. Following high school he enlisted into the United States Navy, serving honorably from 1970 to 1974. Upon returning, he made Moss Bluff his home. 

He met Linda Elaine West in 1975, exchanging vows on March 20, 1976. Together they welcomed two children: Kimberly Renee and Brent Michael. Spencer enjoyed coaching his two children in their athletics and watching them play middle and high school sports, a pastime he also shared with his grandchildren, Grant and Abigail. 

 He was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and was dedicated to his faith. As a jack of all trades, he loved helping anyone in their time of need. 

He was employed with PPG Industries and W.R. Grace as an industrial electrician, retiring in 2012. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, and both he and his wife enjoyed touring the countryside together on his Harley Davidson.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Linda Elaine Fontenot; two children, Kimberly Renee Fontenot Guillory and husband Christopher J. and Brent Michael Fontenot; grandchildren, Grant Christopher Guillory and Abigail Frances Guillory; siblings, Lena Dykes and Brian Fontenot; and numerous nieces, nephews, & extended family.  

Mass of Christian Burial to be held Monday, November 25, 2024, celebrated by Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau beginning at 11am at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Visitation to be held Sunday, November 24, 2024, in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff beginning 4pm to 8pm, with a Rosary at 6pm. Visitation to resume Monday, from 9:30am to 10:45am in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles.
