Stacy Chapel Kirkland

Stacy Renee Chapel Kirkland, 39, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023, in her home. She was born on September 21, 1983, in Lake Charles, LA to Donald and Jeanette Chapel. 

Her main passion and joy was getting to spend time with her two children. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, being outdoors, and playing with her dog Deuce. Traveling to New Orleans, the color red and Waffle House were at the top of her list. She loved butterflies, animals, going to the zoo, and was looking forward to starting her own flower garden.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Donald and Jeanette Chapel of Lake Charles; two children, Zander and Olivia Kirkland of Iowa; her partner of 12 years, Alex Jeansonne of Sulphur; her sister, Forress Clark; and her brother, Michael Chapel, both of Lake Charles; her half-brother, Anthony Michael Chapel of Buford, GA; her grandmother, Carol Bond of Panama City, FL; her grandfather, Donald Chapel, Sr. (Shirley) of Ohio; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Ignace “Pat” Doucet, and Lillian Rogers Doucet, both of Lake Charles; and Jack W. Bond of Oregon. 

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday June 6, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home located at 4321 Lake Street, Lake Charles, LA. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at 1:00 pm on Wednesday June 7, 2023, in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
