Stanley Allen Marshall

Stanley Allen Marshall, 92, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 12:55 AM on Thursday, March 18, 2021 in a local care facility.

Born in Seattle, WA to Ralph A. Marshall and Edith Louise Johnson Marshall, Mr. Marshall was retired from the United States Army following twenty years of service to his country.  He traveled the United states and abroad through his military career, focusing mainly in electronics, spending time in Fort Monmouth, NJ, Fort Bliss, TX, Fort Benning and Fort Gordon, GA, Alaska, Utah, Korea, Vietnam, Germany and France.  He also served over three years in the Air Defense Command in Redmond, WA.  Mr. Marshall was the recipient of numerous service medals, including two awards of the Army Commendation Medal.  Following his retirement from the Army, Mr. Marshall worked at NASA on the Apollo program and he spent twenty years as an electronics specialist for the National Weather Service in Baton Rouge and Lake Charles, retiring in 1988.

Mr. Marshall delighted in giving of his time and talents through service to others.  He installed the wiring and electrical equipment during the building of two local churches, including Calvary Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church Shelton on Belding Street in Lake Charles, as well as other do-it-yourself projects.  He was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church.  Mr. Marshall and his wife also enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States, including a motor home trip to Alaska.  The shared a love of fishing with family and friends.  He often said that his best fishing partner and his best friend was his beloved wife of 56 years, Ines.

Mr. Marshall is survived by his stepchildren, Willard J. LeBlanc and wife Kathleen of Fairmount, TX and Judy Ann Nix and husband Frank of Sulphur, LA; sisters, Gloria Ellen Swanson and husband Paul of Ellensburg, WA and Shirli Ann Strong of Holtville, CA; sisters-in-law, Phillis Marshall and Patricia Marshall, both of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Timothy LeBlanc and wife Laura of Groves, TX, Delia Dempsey and husband John of Silsbee, TX, Chris LeBlanc and wife Casey of Silsbee, TX, Daniel LeBlanc and wife Jennifer of Silsbee, TX, Nyla Gatte and husband Dayon of Jennings, LA, and Billy Nix and wife Linda of Sulphur, LA; eighteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Ines Breaux Marshall; and two brothers, Ron Marshall and John Q. Marshall.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Trinity Baptist Church.  The Rev. Darin Worthington will officiate.  Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
