Stanley C. Kent

Stanley C. Kent, 85, passed into eternal rest at his home.

Mr. Kent retired from the IBEW L.U. 861 after forty-five years of active service and had sixty years total service membership. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the American Legion. He earned membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars through his tour of duty in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Kent is survived by his wife of three years, Margaret Henley-Kent; three sons, Ronald Clare and wife Georgie of Maiden, NC, Michael James Kent of Lake Charles, and Thomas E. Kent of Lake Charles; and two sisters, Laura Belle Paxton and Rosalie Clanton. He was blessed with thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of Union Brothers.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of thirty-six years, Marguerite Ann Cobena Kent; and sons, Ernest Joseph Kent and Stanley Curtis Kent.

His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Gary Evers will officiate. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery in Hayes, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
