Stanley James Raichel, Jr.

Stanley James Raichel, Jr., 69, of Lake Charles, LA died at 2:00 AM on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in his residence.

Mr. Raichel was born September 4, 1943 in Alexandria, LA and lived in Lake Charles for the past fifty-seven years. He was a 1961 graduate of LaGrange High School and graduated from McNeese State University with his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He worked as a CPA all of his life and owned his own firm for the past ten years. Mr. Raichel was a member of the AICPA and a past member of the Optimist Club. He was a member of St. Luke-Simpson United Methodist Church, where he was part of the Supper Club. He enjoyed deep-sea fishing, woodworking, and flying as a solo pilot. Mr. Raichel loved spending time with his family on vacation and enjoyed visiting with his daughter and grandchildren in the Pacific Northwest. He had a passion for Southwest Louisiana and truly loved the area.

Mr. Raichel is survived by his daughter, Melonie Raichel Kemp and husband Mike of Bellingham, WA; son, Michael Raichel of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Ashley, Katie, and Zachary Kemp; mother of his children, Clarice F. Raichel of Lake Charles; siblings, Cookie Talerico and husband Sammy of Morgan Town, WV, Susie Elliott of Houston, TX, Damien Lambert of New Orleans, LA, Steven Sheasby of Dallas, TX, and Kitty Trusty of Jacksonville, FL; step-father, Alvin Sheasby of Arkansas; and aunt, Patsy Policondriotis of Juliet, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Kelone Sheasby and Stanley James Raichel, Sr.; many aunts and one uncle.

His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 22, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Karl Klaus will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
