Stella Barkate

Funeral Services for Stella Barkate will be Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 10a.m. in Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur, La .with Father Jim Winiarski officiating. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 14, 2011 from 2-9p.m. with a rosary at 5p.m. in the funeral home and will resume on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 8a,m, until time of service. Stella was a native of Evangeline and longtime resident of Sulphur. She worked for many years as the credit manager for The Greater Lake Charles Water Co. and also as the CCD Director for Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church for 14 years. She is a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church where she was in the Altar Society and scheduled the Eucharistic Ministers. Stella is survived by her husband, Jimmie Barkate of Sulphur, La., daughter, Wanda Elizabeth Murphy and husband, Frank of Santa Fe, Tx., sister, Mary Noe of Jennings, La., brother, Billy Navarre of Jennings, La., 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, She was preceded in death by her parents, Alicia and Jack Navarre, daughter, Linda Nell Monceaux, and 9 brothers and sisters.
