Stephen Charles Ellis

January 17, 1957 — November 4, 2020

Stephen Charles Ellis, 63, of Lake Charles passed away Wednesday, November 04, 2020 in a local healthcare facility.

Mr. Ellis was a lifelong resident of lake Charles.  He was a graduate of Barbe High School and studied at McNeese State University.  He retired as Powerhouse Supervisor from CITGO Petroleum Refinery with forty-three years of service.  Mr. Ellis enjoyed playing league pool most of his adult life.  He was an avid outdoorsman, as he loved boating, fishing, spending time at his camp in Toledo Bend and condo in Gulf Shores.  He was looking forward to traveling and enjoying retirement.  Mr. Ellis will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family.

He leaves to honor his memory, his wife of thirty four years, Lynda Woods Ellis of Lake Charles; son, Blaine Stephen Ellis (Sara Leonards) of Holmwood; daughter, Elyse Ellis Conner (Ricky) of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, Tyler, Grady and Tillie Ellis; two brothers, David Ellis (Lana) and Mike Mitchell, both of Lake Charles; niece and nephews, Justin, Jacob and Lacy Ellis; stepfather, Jack Mitchell and stepmother, Margaret Ellis Cromwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Stephen Ellis and Bernadette Berry and father-in-law, Curtis Woods.

His family will gather at Prien Lake Park boat launch Saturday, November 07, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM.  As he enjoyed watching the sunset on Prien Lake from his patio, a   sunset tribute to Stephen will be at 5:20 PM.
