Stephen, a resident of Roanoke, LA was the son of the late Roger Edmond “R.E.” Gonsoulin Jr. and Betty Lois Frugé. Stephen attended Notre Dame high school and then trade school to become a machinist. Stephen spent his career as a machinist at Brammer’s Machine Shop in Crowley, LA. He could proudly fix almost anything thrown his way. He was known as the handyman in the family - and if he couldn’t fix it, he could at least rig it with some duct tape until tomorrow. After retirement, he adopted the career of “professional tinkerer” and always had at least a few projects he was working on at a time.
Stephen, better known by most as “Steve” or “Teo” was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. When he wasn’t working, he spent his time with his family at “Paw Paw’s Camp” in Lake Arthur, LA. Many good years were spent at the camp with countless memories. Music was also a huge passion of his life, which he shared with his loved ones. He could be found at any given time, morning, or night, blasting rock and roll. He is loved and missed dearly by those who loved him. Stephen was a truly one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable man who will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Gonsoulin (Ardoin) of Jennings; his children, Stephen Gonsoulin Jr., Stephanie Gonsoulin, Scott Gonsoulin, and Sadie Gonsoulin; his two sisters, Marie Therese Weiss, and Leah Celeste Popp; his four brothers, Roger Edmond Gonsoulin III, Douglas Edward Gonsoulin, Daniel James Gonsoulin, and Francis Timothy Gonsoulin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Edmond “R.E.” Gonsoulin Jr. and Betty Lois Frugé. A celebration of life memorial will be held, and details will be announced at a later date.
