Steve Christopher Larocca

December 14, 1965 — March 17, 2021

Steve Christopher LaRocca, 55, of Carlyss passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 with his loving family at his side, and in the compassionate care from Heart of Hospice.

Steve was a gifted carpenter who took great pride in his craft. Many homes and business in the area enjoy his workmanship. He began his craft with Barry Painter as his mentor and retired from Shannon Smith Construction. He enjoyed staying busy either working in his shop or around his home and yard. He loved spending time at his Toledo Bend Camp, fishing, and “showing off his bass boat.” Steve’s greatest joy was his family; he loved every moment of large family gatherings and especially cherished his role as “PePaw” to his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Inez LaRocca; and brother, Anthony Clarphy LaRocca.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 15 years, Glenda Bell LaRocca; three children, Emily Ann Gullett and husband Allen, Stephanie LaRocca Jones and husband Alex, and Jeffery James Whatley and wife Candie; niece ‘sister’,  Shelly LaRocca Knox; brother, Randall Joseph LaRocca and his wife Debbie; mother-in-law, Emma  Bell; and eight grandchildren, Camden Allen Gullett, Jolene Claire Whatley, Charlee Faye Whatley, Wyatt Lane Naquin, Adeline Mae Jones, Jordan Grace Gullett, Zechariah Cade Gullett, Gentry Rose Whatley, and # 9 on  the way. Steve is also survived by a large extended family that will miss him greatly.

Funeral Services honoring Steve’s life will be held 10 am, Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Johnson & Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur. Visitation will be 5- 9pm, Friday in the funeral home and resume Saturday, 9 – 10am.
