Steve Whitney Carson

On Tuesday, February 5, 2013, a former Minden/Tallulah resident, Steven Whitney Carson passed away after a brief illness at Cornerstone Hospital in Sulphur, LA. Steve was born on May 13, 1949, in Shreveport, LA. After graduating from Minden High School in 1967, he received a BS Degree from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, LA. He was an avid golfer, an LSU fan and worked as an environmental technician for Entech of Lafayette. Steve was preceded in death by his father Robert E. Carson of Monroe, LA. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Alice Carson of Sulphur, LA; his mother Margaret Carson of Hideaway, TX; his son Brad Smith and wife, Erin of Delhi, LA; his sister, Cathy Cameron of Hideaway, TX; and three grandchildren, Conley Smith of Tallulah, LA, Carson Smith and Landry Smith of Delhi, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family in a celebration of Steves life on Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. in the meeting room at Poverty Point State Park in Delhi, LA. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or the Special Olympics.
