Senior Trooper Steven James Vincent, 44, of Iowa, died Monday, August 24, 2015 as a result of injuries he sustained in the line of duty. Steven was a life resident of Iowa. He was a graduate of Iowa High School, attended LSU Eunice and McNeese State University and was a graduate of Louisiana State Police Academy. He began his career in Law Enforcement as a Lake Charles City Police Officer before attending and graduating from the Louisiana State Police Academy. He was assigned to Troop D for the past thirteen years. Steven and his family attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. He served the United States Army during Desert Storm. He leaves to honor his memory, his wife, Katherine Tilley Vincent; son, Ethan James Vincent; father, James Howard Vincent; mother, Mildred Marie Arabie Vincent, all of Iowa; two brothers, Chief Keith Vincent (Julie) of Iowa and Master Trooper Terrell Vincent (Kelli) of Kinder and two sisters, Renae Perry (Jeff) and Miranda Priola (Jeff), both of Iowa; fifteen nieces and eleven nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Amelie Arabie, Paul Arabie and Lillie Fruge Moses. Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Alan Trouille will officiate with Deacon Glenn Viau assisting. Interment will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation Friday will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary service beginning at 6:00 PM at the Rosa Hart Theatre. Visitation Saturday will be from 8:30 AM until 11:15 AM in the funeral home.
