Steven Paul Boyd, 44, of Sulphur died at 10:20 PM on Friday, December 6, 2013 in a local hospital. Mr. Boyd was born on November 5, 1969 in Lake Charles, LA where he resided all of his life. He was a graduate of Barbe High School. Mr. Boyd was employed with American Citadel Guard as a security guard at Sasol, formerly Vista for 19 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially liked fishing and crabbing as well as shopping and trips to the zoo. Those left to cherish his memory are two brothers, Robert E. Boyd and wife Carolyn of Sulphur and James Boyd of Lake Charles; four aunts, Lois Guilbeau of New Orleans, Sylvia Boughtman of Tylertown, MS, Suzanne Beesley of Virginia Beach, VA, and Darlene Mills of Lake Charles; and an adopted daughter, Emily Parker of Lake Charles. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther and Jewell Boyd; his grandparents; a brother, Larry Boyd; and two aunts and four uncles. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Big Woods Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
