Steven Wayne Guillory, a cherished member of the Lake Charles community, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 12, 2024, at a local hospital. He was 56 years old. Born on June 5, 1967, to Hubert and Sally Guillory, Steven was a true Cajun, deeply rooted in his hometown of Lake Charles.
Throughout his life, Steven exuded a passion for the outdoors, cooking, and motorcycle riding. His dedication to serving his community was evident in his 30-year tenure as a volunteer with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Department. He also found fulfillment in his involvement with the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, where he actively contributed to various charitable initiatives and projects.
After graduating from LaGrange Senior High in 1985, Steven pursued higher education at McNeese State University, where he became a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Later, he transferred to San Antonio College before embarking on a successful 24-year career at Firestone, where he excelled as the Facility Security Officer, consistently earning excellence awards. His thirst for knowledge led him to eagerly participate in any learning opportunity available, demonstrating his commitment to personal and professional growth. Eventually, he transitioned to a role as the Security Manager/Security Safety Specialist at Indorama Ventures, LLC.
Steven’s unwavering faith as a devoted Catholic guided his actions and interactions with others. Known for his kind heart, infectious smile, and willingness to help anyone in need, he made a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His jovial nature and sense of humor brought joy and laughter to those around him, and his artistic talents shone through in his designs for charity events and his adeptness at building. Steven is survived by his loving wife, Holiday Guillory; his son, Caleb, and daughter-in-law, Christina; his four grandchildren, Emma, Khloe, Wyatt, and Bree; his parents, Hubert and Sally Guillory; and his sisters, Josette Thompson and Dina Granger, along with her husband, Tim and his godfather, Raymond Guillory. He was preceded in death by his godmother, Sedona Granger.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Victor and Virginia Guillory, Vinton and Bertina Nelson.
In his passing, Steven leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and community spirit that will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have known him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM by Debra Savoie, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM officiated by Monsignor Daniel Torres. Steven will be laid to rest at Consolata Cemetery following the Mass.
