Steven Wayne Mcelfresh

Steven Wayne McElfresh, 54, of Lake Charles passed away at 7:47 AM on Monday, February 7, 2022 in a local hospital.

Steve was born on May 20, 1967 in Alhambra, CA where he was raised and attended school.  He moved to Lake Charles in 1990.  Steve was a hard-working man and was able to work many jobs throughout his life with the skills he had. 

He enjoyed listening to music, playing pool, and riding his motorcycle.  Steve was an avid NASCAR fan. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Blake McElfresh (fiancé Lauren Canter) of Lake Charles; former wife and mother of his child, Rebecca “Becky” McGuire McElfresh of Baytown, TX; in laws, Thomas and Sandra McGuire of Baytown, TX; and nephews, Joseph Swire of Lake Charles and Cody Swire of Covington, LA.  His first grandchild is due to arrive in September.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at University Baptist Church.  The Rev. Marcus Wade will officiate.  Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.  A gathering will begin at 1:00 PM until the start of the service.
