Sue Frances Walkner

Sue Frances Dalton Walkner, 84, of Longville, LA died at 1:17 AM on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in a local care facility. Mrs. Walkner was born March 21, 1930 in Port Arthur, TX, where she was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and lived in Longville, LA for most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Longville. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for sixty-six years and served as a past Worthy Matron. She volunteered for St. Jude's Children's Hospital along with her husband for a number of years. She also worked as a saleswoman for Avon for a number years. Mrs. Walkner enjoyed reading and crocheting and would make hats for preemie babies in the hospital. Mrs. Walkner is survived by her sister's children, Allen Bailey of Sulphur, LA, Billy Ray Bailey, Jr. of Westlake, LA, Donna Bailey Carter of Winnie, TX, and Arthur Scott Bailey of DeRidder, LA; along with many other friends and loved ones. Mrs. Walkner was preceded in death by her husband, James Patrick Walkner; and sister, Barbara Jean Bailey of DeRidder, LA. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Longville under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Pastor Stuart Graves will officiate. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, LA. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
